Executive Chairman

The Executive Chairman is the Chief Executive and Accounting Officer responsible for the day-to-day routine administration of the Board. He is assisted by two Permanent Members and Board Secretary as well as Board Members in which he chair. The Board is answerable to the Executive Governor through the Ministry of Education.

FUNCTIONS

The functions of the Executive Chairman include:
  • Providing direction to the Board
  • Responsible for general administration of the Board
  • Performing such other duties as may from time to time be assigned him by the Board
  • Responsible to the Board in the performance of his duties under SUBEB law 2005
  • Providing direction to the management and staff of the Board

The Office of the Executive Chairman consists of:
  1. Special Project Unit
  2. Internal Audit Unit
  3. Legal Unit
  4. Confidential Unit

ACHIEVEMENTS

The Universal Basic Education Board has been and will continue to remain at the forefront in ensuring the implementation of the UBE. programme for the benefit of children in the State.

The Board’s major activities, achievements and challenges in the year under review are outlined here in the reports from the various departments and units, which helped to sustain the tempo of basic education delivery in the State.
